Tets Kimura is a completing his doctoral thesis on soft power and Japanese fashion at Flinders University, Australia, where he teaches arts and international relations. He holds an Australian Postgraduate Award (2014-2018). Having published a number of refereed articles on Japanese fashion, culture, history and media issues, he is currently expanding his academic interests to East Asia. His latest scholarly work includes “Creation of Contemporary Taiwanese Fashion” (Fashion Practice, 9:3, 2017, co-authored with Shih-Ying Lin) and “Heroes and Villains” (Continuum, forthcoming in 2018, co-authored with Sandra Egege).
